Dan has been adopted!

What is Dan’s history?

Dan is a senior, Percheron gelding whose owner passed away leaving him and his companions, Sage and Thyme, without a place to go. All three arrived at Pony Up in June of 2018. Dan is very underweight and in need of extensive foot care and dental work. Dan is very close with his companions, but is not an assertive personality despite his size, which is believed to be the reason for his malnourished state. He is very sweet and appreciates pats and scratches. He was once a carriage horse. He loads into a trailer beautifully, has excellent manners, and a sweet disposition.

Who would be good for Dan?

Dan is in need of a quiet, loving, retirement home that will give him the attention and care he needs. He gets along well with other horses, but may require separation during feeding time to ensure he receives the nutrition he requires. His feet are in serious disrepair and Pony Up is beginning treatment along with supplements, dental work,  and rehab for his malnourishment (June 2018).

.

What about Dan?

.Dan is estimated to be about 25 years old and about 17H. He is very bonded to his gelding friend Thyme and will likely do very well with another horse. He is a very sweet, gentle giant. He will need continued foot care, supplements, and dietary maintenance. He will not be released by Pony Up until he has been given a clean bill of health and he has completed rehab.
